Hi all,

Last night, I screened my film purchased long time ago, Dracula Prince of Darkness. It is a digest 400" from (old) Derann.

I usually don't like this type of film on digest because the edit usually horrible.

However, last night I was so struck by the edit, because the story flew nicely.

Unfortunately, my print has gone faded and because most of the scene was in the darkness, I was completely disappointed wit it. The worst thing was the print was made in widescreen, making the black bar on the bottom and top got manipulated with the darkness scene. So I've barely seen the different between them.

So any possible of this digest on low fade stock?

Please note that I am questioning 400" not the full feature.

Yes it was available on low fade color. My copy of the 400' digest is in anamorphic wide screen, not masked; the color looks perfect. I believe it was probably printed in the 1990s.

I have the flat version on 4x400' abridged feature; it is flat and the color has faded.

My digest is also true scope (not matted) and the color is fine although the print is a bit murky and dark in spots, but I've seen worse. My digest of "Taste The Blood Of Dracula" from DERANN is terrific - bright and crisp and no fade at all. The seller 'runco' on Ebay currently has one up for grabs if you're interested.

I briefly had a 1980s polyestar low fade print of the 400' 'scope version, although it was terribly washed out, so low fade will not guarantee a good print. I'm not certain if the flat masked version was still printed in the low fade era - it may have been but I don't recall seeing one offered.

I have not watched it for a long time, I just took it out to check the stock: My scope print is printed on Eastman LPP polyester stock from 1983.
