I own two Kodak CT-1000 16mm projectors, which are essentially the same as the Elmo 16-CL. Is it worth buying a spare set of rollers and belts ahead of time to have as a handy replacement set or would you recommend buying them only when needed?
My main concern is that these rollers and belts deteriorate over time and wonder if even though these are not installed in the projector ... wouldn't they deteriorate as well? Is it worth keeping a spare set?

It is always best to buy fresh belts and rollers - provided they are always available. You have to be sure you are in fact purchasing 'fresh' stock, and not something that has been on the shelf for an extended time, so you have to buy from manufacturer if possible as dealers tend to buy in bulk. Storing some items in as cool and dry as possible will help extend their shelf life; some items may be placed in 'vacuum storage' to further extend shelf life. Im not certain if rubber products would decompose more slowly if stored in a vacuum, but it couldn't hurt to try.
