I recently made an eBay purchase from Japan of a Godzilla book that came with a Super 8mm film.

The film is a color/silent 100' cutdown of the 1965 Ghidrah that's very different from the Ken Films version. The plot is told succinctly, however the film is meant to be played along with a record (shades of Americom) that the seller could not locate.

 -

The color of the film is halfway decent, better than my screen shots show.

I wonder if there are similar book/film combinations for other Toho movies.

Just saw this. Cool!
I will be on the lookout for this on my next trip to Japan.
Interesting that the film is clips of Ghidora, but the book appears to be Monster Zero, with the spaceships and all.

Hugh,

Luck it is! I believe the book and film date from the early 1970's.

Well Doug you've certainly got yourself a novelty there.I'll wager
that there is a series of them and fingers crossed you'll
obtain the rest on your next trip.It might be an idea if you have
the stores address to contact them and reserve any future titles
they come across for you.
