I am trying to make a list of all westerns with sound that are released as home-movies on 8mm standard, Super 8 or 16 mm film.

Only the Westerns released as home-movies that are abridged versions, condensed versions, highlights, headline editions or selected scenes will be included. No feature lenght editions.

The films are listed by year of release.

Each entry has the following data:

- Title
- Year of release
- Additional genre information
- Director
- Runtime in minutes
- Color C or Black/White BW
- Film format: 8mm standard, Super 8 or 16mm film.
- Name of producing company and film number
- Name and release year of the original production
- Cast

Here is the third edition of my list.
It has all sound westerns, abridged versions only, released by:

- Castle Films
- Columbia
- CMV Film / Constantin (German label)

******
So far the list of the Westerns with sound list.

The rest will follow soon. But I need YOUR help.
WANTED

If you have info about Westerns with sound from other companies (like Universal 8, Warner Brothers, Derann, Walton, etc.) please let me know so that I can include them in this list.

If you have old catalogs for sale or can make a copy of the catalog that you have, please let me know.

I hope you like this list that I am compiling and will help me with making this list as complete as possible.

Rob.

Joost,

Welcome to the Forum! No need to apologize since Last Train from Gun Hill was also released as a 400' digest.

No mention of Shane? Released by Derann, full length color feature.
Last Train from Gun Hill was released by Viacom and was one of the most stunning super 8 prints ever put out. Unfortunately now faded.

I was also going to mention the numerous 9.5mm Western shorts in Pathescope's catalogue, but I see he does not specify 9.5mm film.

Just to confuse things,"Last Train From Gun Hill"was released by
Derann in a 5x400' col/snd std 8mm version and later S/8.

Hi, thanks for all contributions. As you can see, the list of westerns with sound (abridged versions only) is growing.

If there are Westerns that are released on 9½ mm film, please feel free to let me know.
But remember, no complete features or complete short movies, only abridged versions WITH sound.

Thanks,

Rob
