I have this. The story flows good. It focuses on the action. So you will never get bored.

This print come up quite often on Ebay. However, the down side is almost 99% prints circulated have faded badly. There some members report to have a good print but this is very rare ocassion.

Btw, you should post this at 8mmforum to attract more responses than here in General Yak.

There are three Sinbad: 7TH VOYAGE and GOLDEN VOYAGE each got issued as 4x200' and EYE OF THE TIGER got released as a 400'.

These films are repeatable. Worth to have together with "Jason and the Argonauts" also from Columbia 2 * 200'.

Since Sinbad is more common than Jason, usually is cheaper I bought mine (all 8 x 200') for $25 back in 2004 but now probably worth a lot more. My guess will be around $45-60.

I remember ordering the B/W silent pt 4 "The Dragon's Lair" from the Blackhawk catalog when they were clearing out the last of their super 8 titles. They sent me the color sound version with a note apologizing as they were out of the BW. Alas my super 8 regret is selling it about 10 years ago (wonder if its faded by now).
Finding nice color prints of any Columbia release is hard. Had a copy of a beet red Golden Voyage Of Sinbad at one point.

Luckily I was able to find all 4 parts edited together off Paul Fosters list about a year ago.

Colors were at least better than expected and for me is a must have for the collection.
I'll be screening it this year at our annual outdoor neighbourhood movie night.

Were there different edits of some of the Sinbad digests? As in: some of the versions were withdrawn and replaced by "improved edits," like Castle's SON OF FRANKENSTEIN?

Yes they did Marshall,the first run of Sinbad ran for 36 minutes
and was shortened by a couple of minutes per reel as were
the other one reelers like "Earth vs Flying Saucers".I have both
versions of Sinbad, the first on std 8mm col/snd and the other
on s/8 col/snd,but both pale in comparison to the full length
feature from Derann and my IB Tech 16mm feature.

Would it be possible for someone to post even a very general list of what footage was in each of the four 7TH VOYAGE reels? I checked out the first one from the library when I was a kid and always wondered about the others. Main reason for asking is that from the one-sentence synopses I've read (in FM?) vol. 2 sounds like a dud.

Make no mistake Marshall,the film "7th Voyage of Sinbad" is
worth getting whatever version you pick up,it's first class
entertainment in all it's various incarnations.A film that people
will still be watching many years from now because being a
period piece,It doesn't date!All of the stop motion films on 8mm
are definately worth chasing,so don't be mislead by some idiot
saying these films are duds.The little 200's were all nicely edited
and can be shown as separate clips in themseves.

Like I said Marshall,it's a great film whatever you watch it on.
It's worth having on dvd for the extras that come with the film.
This is known as ROT,Re-used Old Technology,as Derek Simmonds
said,when he wanted this kind of material to release on super 8
the companies didn't have anything,then suddenly it appears
for dvd.

I have all 4 7th Voyage on 1 800' reel. It makes a nice mini movie. The color on mine is still go as is the sound. I kept the original boxes and leader.
