Interested in starting a 16mm film clud. How do you go about starting one? How do you deal with donations to stay legal for a small drive-in? There is more need than money.

I would think the first thing you would need would be an exhibitors licence.There are a few members on here that have
cinemas and I'm sure will give good advice.

It sounds like a great idea, but it will work better if you keep it among friends at your own residence and don't charge admission.

Once you start to change from that formula, it gets exponentially more complicated.

It is possible though.

Usual arrangement within the UK is to sell each attendee a raffle ticket upon entry for a modest prize which will help cover your costs.
