I just finished this conversion. I replaced the expensive 30v 80w BLG bulb around 60.00 with a 30v 80w ELE bulb about 15.00. Works great. The original base is still there. I used two of the tongs to mount the base of the bulb holder to it. Then 2 bolts in the front or rear depending on your perspective. I soldered the leads into the pin holes in the original socket. All you have to do is find the socket. I took it off an old parts machine. Done!
