I used a couple of methods, both just a blank canvas. First I used A4 matte or satin photo paper this will fit 600ft up. (A4 is just a little wider than the 600ft box).
For the 1200ft I had some A3 photo paper this worked out well, you can get a good size image on the front, wrap round bottom opening and a few inches on the back (bit like the Derann labels).
I also taped the bottom flap outside the box so the spool went in better.
I use 200dpi or 300dpi although it does give large files, if you have large images to use I feel when reduced they look better.

Ernie, check out a copy center, i used their color copier and just enlarged the picture i made 2 copies from a laurel and hardy box to fit on my 800' boxes, not sure how much that would cost.
