David, some Super 8 projectors give a good picture quality and, as we all know, it is possible to have top quality prints as well (Derann is the reference we have all in mind).

That´s a very impressive list. When you mention Italian or
German print, does that meãn the film is spoken on that language ?

All the titles I listed was Super 8 and the Ivo Caprino films are norwegian sound. We don't dub films in Norway, thankfully

Vidar, I know that films are not dubbed in Norway but subtitled, like for each less spoken languages. I am surprised to hear that Super 8 films were released in Norwegian. That'e suppose that the market for film is (or was) not so small as one could think. Great new.

I should rephrase that, read it again and can be misunderstood. The list has english sound, no subtitles, except the Ivo Caprino marked with Norwegian sound (which is the original soundtrack) and the Kill Baby, Kill which is dubbed to German

Most of my 16mm however are subtitled in Norwegian, Swedish or Danish

I was talking about subtitles in general, not for your titles (that I imagine were mostly bought abroad).

I also have Casablanca, like another Italian collector.

Does the "rare" classification means how often it comes out on the used lists or it regards the number of prints made?

Here are mine, anyway:
- A grand day out
- The Hostage (BMW short)
- Silence of the lambs
- The great dictator (RBC films version)
- Modern Times (Italian print)
- The mark of Zorro (Italian print)
- Jesus Christ Superstar (Italian print, in 4*180, horribly abridged, cropped and definitely red... the worst print in my collection, but I've seen it only once in the used lists in 15 years of collecting)
- Un chien andalou
- Clash of the titans (full lenght italian print)

You have some great optical titles there, Alan! I missed out on a print of Splash once.

I used to have "High Road to China" when I first collected Super 8 (It was an optical print), and I remember seeing (but didn't buy it, curse my stupidity), on Dave Thomas Films used film lists (way back in the late 80's) ...

... a super 8 optical sound print of "The Last Unicorn"! Now there's another RARE title!

"High Road to China" was a fun film, still wish I had it. Much more laid back than "Raiders Of The Lost Ark", with Tom Selleck as a beer swilling WWI fighter pilot. (Ironically, Steven Speilberg wanted Tom for the role, but the network that was airing "Magnum PI" at the time, wouldn't allow Tom to do it, for whatever seasons. Glad we got Harrison Ford instead, though!)
