Just acquired this projector. The motor and lamp are okay but the mechanism doesn't work!!!! On closer inspection I found out that the re-wind lever is missing from the top of the machine. Could this be the reason and is there anything I can do about it?Thanks MIKE

As I recall the rewind lever does just that. Take the back off and peer inside, the drive chain may be broken.

There is a picture in this listing of a Specto with the drive cover off which may help:

it is a nice machine. I like it.
Often motor belt is defective. Red/orange belt shown in picture has been replaced, too.

Thanks guys. I can't believe I missed something so obvious as a missing belt!!! By the way what do you recommend for lubrication of the gear box and the other moving parts. MIKE

I used WD-40 specialist (it may have another name in your country) for a 9,5 Specto. For the parts close to where the film moves, a drop of sewing machine oil should be enough.

Sewing machine oil would be best but I have used "3-in-1" oil with good results. Don't overfill the gearbox through the rewind handle shaft though. I did and it leaks out for days afterwards. [Frown]
