Hello all,
I recently bought a nizo S800 camera on ebay. I got interested in this model because it has 1000hz sync pulse generator built into it.
Now to be able to access and use the signal. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a cord for the DIN plug on this camera? Or have a pinout of the connector so I could possibly build one?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !!

The socket on this camera may look similar to a "DIN" socket, but it is NOT DIN standard and no DIN standard plug will fit it.
It is a NIZO special, so look for the correct accessory lead.
The manual for this Camera makes mention of it... but does not give a connection schematic.

Its the same plug as fitted to the canon cine camera's, 1014 xl-s, 814 xl-s, as martin says not the same physical size as a din plug, but designed with pins to suit various applications. There is a pin out diagram in the canon user manual. The canon use's one click per frame for sound syncronisation. I have adapted the other end of this cable to sync with the elmo portable tape player. You can get these cables from some of European cine providers online. Its a really fiddly little plug and you need to be careful not to put it in out position to the pins, as this will damage the pins beyond repair.

Ahhh. Thank you very much ! I never would have guessed that. Ill search around some more for a cannon 1014-xls cable for it. I googled a little already and not finding anything yet. Do you have any idea of any shops or particular places that may have them ? Ill search for a 1014 manual online and study that too. Again, Many Thanks !!

The cable is actually a braun original part not a canon, although it fits the canon 1014 camera. I'll check where I obtained this cable and get back to you. I have canon manual, i'll try and upload a picture of the pin-out for you or send me your email address and I can send it that way, if this helps you.

Thank you very much Paul. I did look up the pinout you referred to in an online canon instruction manual. I did also find a pinout in a online nizo S800 manual.

I found a cable from "super 8 arena" that I ordered. Its a model UC-4 so im not sure if its going to give me 1pulse per frame or 1 pulse every 4th frame. I also have no idea what kind of connectors are going to be on the other end of the cord LoL
But at least it will fit the camera and give me something to work with. Ill keep you posted. Thanks !!

High Doug, I had a look on there website recently and I'm sure that's where my cable came from, are you sure its the right cable?, they did have some braun sync cables, but I thought they were for the larger style din plug, I think your braun camera has both type sockets. I can tell you for sure that only one type of cable fits the canon 1014, of which type your after, it does not have the standard din type socket on the canon, I would double check, perhaps send a picture or get them to send a pic to you of the type you want, they are quite helpful I've found and answer emails very quickly. If you tell them its the same as fitted to the canon model 1014 xls there can be no mistake, as there is only one fitted to this camera.

Sorry for my shouting, but I'm very pleased to see this possibility after so many years of trying to grab an 1 pulse per frame cable.

I saw a pin-out for the Nizo s800 online the other day.

Pin 8 , 7 and 6 are for the start stop of the recorder. The german text clarifies that.
