I'm looking for an 8mm film camera that allows me to shoot one frame at a time. I have heard there are cameras out there with this function, but am totally new to 8mm filming. Thanks in advance for any help. (Super 8 wouldn't be suitable for my needs btw) thanks!

Hello Eddie. Welcome to the forum. Many cine camera allow indeed to shoot frame by frame. There are plenty makes and models to choose from.

Eddie, almost all cine cameras in all gauges, except the very basic ones, have single frame facility and also multiple frame speeds. e.g. 8,16,(18 in Super 8, 24, 32 frames per second. Some could even run at 64f.p.s. Ken Finch.

Hi Eddie, it has but it is not selected by the frame per second dial, it is on the dial at the read of the side. This is marked KC, CC and 1 setting to 1 allows single frame when pressing the normal normal trigger (or using a cable release, I believe). A nice camera, my uncle had one which my dad inherited (now me), it isn't through lens reflex but does have a film plane mark for measuring distance to focus. As usual with Russian camera it is very heavy.
