Has anyone a solution to repairing the sprocket holes on 8mm film? I had some film damaged by running through a dodgy projector and now it jumps when run. The film is ok it is the sprocket holes that are damaged. It plays back to front ok as the sprocket holes are only damaged at one side. Any ideas?

I tend to like the Kodak presstapes for this. Works fine for me, not sure if it's more than 3-5 sprockets that are gone, but under 5 works nicely
Good luck, sad to hear films get damaged, but sometimes it happens

As long as the damage isn't too bad, you can try applying some film cement (the kind used for cement splicers) to the damaged areas. I've done this with a few films that had moderate sprocket damage instead of using tape or editing precious frames...

Good to see another member in Croydon! Vidar - when repairing sprocket damage, do you apply Presstapes to both sides of the film, and do you use the whole tape or just cut off and use the edge with the sprocket holes (which 16mm users sometimes do). Can you actually make the damage difficult to spot, or is it more a matter of getting the film through the projector without losing the loop?
