At one time I had a Thunderbird Films print of Carl Dreyer's VAMPYR, but the original was so compromised and the image steadiness so poor I eventually sold it.
I've noticed that a US Public Domain video label, Sinister Cinema offers a 50-some minute reconstruction of VAMPYR that was marketed as under the title "CASTLE OF DOOM" (not to be confused with the Walton Vampire Circus cut-down). They site that their video source was a 8mm film print.
Has anyone run across this? I've see you-tube video's of it that are in dreadful condition, so I was wondering how common an actual print was, and if it runs any better? Does anyone know it's origin?
Thanks
