Don't get me wrong, I had a great time (wish I could have stayed longer, but had to leave Sat morning for my 25th high school reunion that night), and will definitely attend next year (how can I not - I live two hours away!).
Cinevent has kind of a more industrial feel to it - lots and lots of dealer tables. But a LOT of the show is pictures, posters, DVD's, etc.
CineSea (from what I gathered, last one was my first) is all about film. CineSea is a lot more intimate and friendly.
This was my second Cinevent, and what made it a lot more enjoyable than last year was the fact that I ran into several people I'd met at CineSea (Shorty, Gary Sloan, Gary Crawford, Geoffrey Curtis and Lori, Lou and Lou Jr). Also got to hang out with Steve Osborne, and met Bill Davis for the first time.
I spent a lot of time with Geoffrey (he teaches me so much every time I see him!), and the Friday night viewing in Geoffrey's screening room was almost like a mini CineSea.
So while Cinevent is bigger and flashier (and a lot closer), I would have to say I liked CineSea a lot better.
