hi!friends,can someone please tell me if there,s any other lenses who can fit in the chinon ss-1200,besides the standard one,i got the 1;3,but i would like to use if it, possible another scale like;1;1 or 1;0,like i got in my elmo.

Hi luis, I think the side viewer built in to this projector prohibits the use of a larger front element lens like an f1.1 or f1.0, but I'm working on the rewind problem on the 1200ss with Alan Rik, so when I get five minutes i'll try a couple of lens I have around and get back to you. I suppose if you removed the viewer if you have no intention of using it, you will have a better chance of finding something to fit I'm sure.

thanks Paul for your sugestion i.ll already had the same thought some time ago and it,s true if i remove the viewer of i,ll get more room,for other kind of lenses,but i,m will be gratefull,if you camake that experimental,because the lenses i got neither fit,s in the chinon.

Hi Luis, is the chinon lens smaller or larger than 28mm for say a xenovaron you can sleeve in.

They are about and very good.

11mm-30mm 1.1 or 1.2 as good as a 1.1.

Just an update Luis, I have removed the chinon lens, its an odd design, short and smaller on the diameter than any of the lens I have. It looks like the focusing with a pin is like the Elmo, with a thumbscrew wheel to change the zoom sizing, but the difference in size, 2.5mm approx smaller than any other lens would mean you would have to remake the holder on the chinon to accommodate the faster lens, plus it has a rectangular key opposite to the pin on the barrel, so this would have to be on the new lens. The other problem is the position of the zooming wheel, it would be some way from where the replacement lens would be, it would need some engineering to get another lens of a higher speed to work in the limited space. I have not looked at the holder yet, as its deep in the body of the projector, but I will try and get some measurements to see what it could accommodate.

As mentioned above by Paul, this projector and the badged Revue Lux Sound 80 (which I have) have a small side viewing screen. To operative this a mirror hinges at 90 degrees to divert the light beam.
Because of the position of the mirror the gate and lens assembly are set way back. The lens cannot be rotated directly for its zoom, a clever arrangement enables it to be operated by access from outside.
It does seem that the lens is special to this model, and makes any replacement lens difficult.
