I make this a new topic even though I mentioned it in the Wolverine thread. Just wonder if anyone is using the new upgraded Reflecta Super 8+ scanner? I have searched for reviews or user reports of this machine but so far not found any. I think I read somewhere that it should use less compression than the original model.

Has anyone used the Reflecta? I'm considering one, but at its current price point it would need to be a significant improvement over the lower priced Wolverines etc.

Looks to me like the Reflecta Scanner is a modified Bell & Howell projector. Is that true?

Not new Bell& Howell, but I wonder if they buy used Bell & Howell's and modify them for film scanning.

Nantawat that sounds interesting. Would you share more details please? I have around 4000ft of Super 8 that needs digitising, so I want to only do it once!

For years I tried virtually every approach ranging from simplest off-the-wall projection,to this extreme method - projecting directly into the camera's image sensor.
To my surprise, this method really did work. The result is sharp, bright&evenly illuminated. Setting it up is surely time-consuming,but should worth the result.
