Been using this unit for a number of months. Have probably done several dozen reels of film and am pleased enough with it. My problem is that every now and then, the unit will just stop when recording. It did it several times one day several months ago and then never had a problem until today when it did it again 3 or 4 times before running fine. Anyone else have this issue?

Can you be a little more specific please?

You say it randomly stops recording so...

Does the take up spool motor keep running?
Does the scanner return to the main menu and stop?
Does it shut down completely and power off?
Does it just stop mid scan, does the stepper motor pulling the film thro the gate also stop?

Mine only stops if it finds a broken sprocket hole or tape splice that is poor,in which case I just pull the film to the right of the gate until it picks up and continues.

Mine has never randomly stopped other than that.

You could email the tech support people at Wolverine, they are helpful, but bear in mind they are in california, so the time difference may mean waiting for a reply.

If you email them, it would be sensible to give more specific details other than 'it just stops recording' so they are able to help you.

I tried to post a link to wolverine data but for some reason it won't work. wolverine data come up in google results and then to the support page for an email address.

I found that almost all buggy behaviour (random stopping; strange faults on the display such as "please connect to the power supply!") was immediately solved by blasting comressed air (use a can with a long applicator tube) into the sensor/pin on the film guide track, just to the right of the illuminated scanning window. This becomes fouled with dust/film particles, causing all manner of these strange faults which don't seem particularly connected.

I use a soft brush inbetween each scan to keep the gate area clean.
I may have to invest in a can of air.
