Friends, Can anyone suggest a fix for a slow take up in the loop department of my elmo cl16. As the film runs, it spills out the front below the lens, which is I think the escape route for this upside down placement of the loop.

I have the same problem. Drives me nuts sometimes. It usually occurs, with mine, at the beginning of projection. If the same for you, I find that manually ensuring that the take-up reel is at full speed helps (in other words, making sure there is no slack on the film at the take-up reel). There is sometimes a lag with the take-up reel when I switch to run, and that causes the spillage. So just making sure the take-up reel is doing its thing eliminates the problem...
