I was very interested in finding a used Workprinter or a Retro 8 for my customers who want 8/Super8 transfers. The cost of the new Retro Scan Universal is too high based on the amount of transfers I do. So I thought a Workprinter or Retro 8 would be a good solution.
But now I see that Moviestuff does not allow you to buy the software unless you bought your machine from him. Is there alternative software that is reliable?
I've been using Wolverine machines, but they are not a good solution for a small business.

I have a couple of Moviestuff Workprinter HD units: one I use for primary transfer and the other for backup part (although it seems to work very well on standard 8mm films). I also have a "spec" PC with the Blackmagic intensity card and software required for capture. Also the Canon XHA1 camcorder, etc. In other words, everything needed to capture the films. I have been thinking about selling this equipment as well as my other capture equipment (VHS tapes, audio tapes, Super8 tapes) and offering a "one-day training" session on site. Not sure how to proceed since there is so MUCH equipment and supplies (cannisters, reels, cleaning fluid and pad, etc). If there is some interest contact me at my email (tfales at wctel dot net) since I don't often go on this site.

Thanks, but since writing that I have purchased the new Retro Scan Universal. Lot of money, but it should be a good investment.
