I am looking for dark black super 8 silent leader. Does anyone have a source for this? I am looking to buy about 1,000 feet.

If Urbanski doesn't have this, you might consider buying a lot sale of expired negative or Kodachrome film off of eBay. Unprocessed color film is very opaque, but I can't remember which one has remjet on the backing which rubs off (bad). You want remjet IN the emulsion so it can't wear off. I think that's Kodachrome.

Thanks guys. I'm aware of those dealers. I'm trying to find it in bulk. Urbanski's 50 foot rolls at $9.50 seem like my only hope.
For those of you doing changeovers this helps alot. Splice 3 feet between the last projected picture frame and the tail of the print.
That allows you to do a very fast double exposure. One on black, the other on the new reel. Very quickly you start motor, strike lamp and switch sound, then reach over and shut the lamp of the ending reel. This sounds complicated because you only have seconds to do it - but really it is very simple and quite professional when you get the hang of it. Just make sure to use a print that has original lab cues in the proper place, and that your leaders are marked to put # 8 on a countdown or # 6 on a clock leader in the top loop. That is - the number # 6 or # 8 in the top loop. Upon 1st cue you start the motor and on second cue you switch everything over.
If you are in to using twin machines to run a show, you will really dig this procedure once you are comfortable with it. Master it - and it will change everything about how you run your shows.

...So far I have purchased 400' of black leader from Steve Osborne and The Reel Image. I find It less striking and more aesthetical during transitions between reel/spool changes when used as the tail. I don't have a fancy projecting booth and I run a single projector. No complaints from my audiences so far...
