Below is a link to my article in the current issue of Cinema Technology Magazine, and is posted on the Van-Eck website. Edwin kindly provided the editor of the magazine with photographs of Super 8 and 16mm projectors.
For those of you who saw my piece in Home Cinema Choice, you will notice that I have used its contents as the backbone of this article too, but this is tailored to a different audience. Cinema Technology is the EMEA equivalent of US-based Film Journal magazine. The readership of both these business publications consists of professional cinema exhibitors, manufacturers and service providers, and the mags mostly contain industry news and features.

This is a great article. For me. it describes perfectly what film has that digital media do not have - "the emotional information".

I was there too. I suspect it's my age but it just doesn't seem to be almost 7 years ago, and therefore 6 years of Blackpool with Mr Guest.

Let us not forget Jeff Aikman of J-E-F FILMS. Also back in the day he had some really good product and although he was a competitor to Derann I got to know him fairly well I don’t know what he’s doing now but I was one of his biggest customers on Cape Cod back when I was buying from him. Before he closed up shop for Super 8 Sales I got to see at least three of his warehouses and he allowed me to handpick the selection of the day.
