Hello. New member here but not new to 8mm Coming back after a 40 year break! I've yet to delve into the attic to hunt down my old movies (all shot on std 8)
So,in anticipation, and to get my head back round the mechanics of projectors, I've got my hands on a Eumig 710d. Everything powers up, new lamp and full set of gates, cogs etc. I've set it up for super 8 at the moment as I've got some old film I can use to test. Film loads and gets as far as the gate and doesn't progress any further. Whilst I can't see it, I'm guessing that the claw isn't engaging with the film to pull it forward.
It looks like there should be two claws, but I've since read that the dual format versions only have one.
Is it possible to move the claw so that it engages correctly, or is it likely that the claw has broken in some way?
