I have a Wolverine 8mm/super8mm movie maker. All of a sudden I can't get any of the menue or other options on the screen. I can see film going by but it is out of focus and i can't adjust. Does this mean I have a bad circuit board? If it is bad has anyone bought one and if so how much? Any help appreciated. [Mad]

I have never had either of these problems so I am unsure what to suggest .
I would be heading to Wolverine website and get in touch with customer support

Thanks Mike--I did call them and the first thing they said was a dirty sensor, that they have many reports of the same issue and the sensor has been the issue. I tried several times to clean the sensor and nothing has changed. The next thing they said could be the problem is a bad board. If cleaning will fix it the cost will be about $30, if a new board is needed $100. I also made them aware of the heat issue that causes the pulley belt to get stikey. When I get my machine back from repair I will install a small muffin fan at the base on the back and drill holes in the back next to the belt pulley so the fan will draw air in through the holes and blow the hot air out. That should fix that problem.

Phil,

Sounds like you have the 'first gen' Wolverine, and yes, they have a tendency to overheat. What you plan to do should resolve that problem. I hope Wolverine support can resolve your Menu problem and get you up & running quickly.

In the meantime, if you review the Wolverine threads, you see numerous discussions about resolving problems with this converter, including many from Mike Spice. Good stuff!

Kev, I sent my machine in for repair. Turns out it has a bad sensor. New sensor, firmware upgrade and shipping back to me will be $50. I also asked them to charge me for an extra belt just in case mine breaks.
