Just curious to know, if someone knows, if you can swap a version 1 board with a version 3 board without electrically hurting anything? In other words, running a version 1 projector with a version 3 board.

Hi Larry, Yes you can swap the boards . All the GS1200 circuit boards are the same. Except for the GS1200 XENON. That board might look the same. But its knot! Most of the electronics on that board is Different! Good Luck! Leon Norris.

Be careful by swap the Boards.
The MK 3 Machines have 20V take up and rewinding Motors.
The MK 1 and 2 have only 8V Motors.
The Power Suppley Elko in the 8V Machine has only 16V max.
If you put this Board in a 20V Machine it can blow away sometimes.
First you must change this Elko for this Motors. Than changing the Board is possible.

Thomas , the motor's on the GS1200 for takeup and rewind are. 1- 2-3 volts for older model. 2- 5-6 volts for newer models. With the older model you can use a constant voltage control board. Which mounts by the rewind motor. That works great when you exchange the circuit board! And gives you more rewind and takeup power! The older model always had a sluggish rewind.

The AC Power on the Transformer for Take up and Rewind ist on the older machines 8V. On the newer ones 20V. After Bridge Rectifier and Capacitor comes the Control Board where you can adjust the DC Voltage for the Motors.
