Hi, forum members. As of recently I've been tinkering with the idea it might be possible to use VHS VCR videoheads to replace Eumigs Series 900 worn sound heads.
To better explain: VCR's videoheads are very small, once removed from the head drum where they are factory mounted and adjusted. They could be somehow inserted in the Eumig head assembly once the original coils and gaps have been removed without damaging the ceramic cast which contains all four gaps (and coils). I have no idea as to how to accomplish this, but I'd deal with that later, depending on the ansewer to the following...
So the question is: what are the chances such heads, being so different from the original heads, might interface properly with the original sound PCB? AND in case they don't, could it be possible to replace a few components so as to make the "implant" possible? What are the important parameters to check (impedance? etc?).
Of course any additional input is welcome... Thank you.
