I was never really into buying 8mm films but hired absolute loads through the 70's! One library I particularly remember was Bream Film Library who used to send the films well wrapped in brown paper and string! Quite different to the heavy plastic transit cases of most libraries! It had a very personal touch and if any films were a bit worse for wear you always had the hire charges dropped!
I really rather miss those days of getting the next lot of films through the post!
I also remember that one or two big studios started to hire some 8mm films out at its height but their charged were well beyond me! I often wondered just how much better quality they were!
