Jason Depending on your 16mm rewinder, the Van Eck may not fit. They have no method of attaching themselves to a rewind. They need a rewind with a turn-over key. To use:- The key is pulled out horizontally. The adapter fitted. The spool fitted. The turn-over key turned to 90 degrees. Thus keeping both adapter and spool securely on the shaft. My two 16mm rewinders are Premier by Robert Rigby and they depend on a spring catch to clip on one side of the spool. They are not suitable for the Van Eck adapter.

Here are my super 8 to 16mm adapters. The ones on the left I bought on eBay are aluminum and can be tightened to the shaft with a built in hex screw, the ones from Van Eck are on the right. They are made from brass...

Maurice is right. None of the adapters are made to keep the reel in place. I got mine from Wittner years ago. I use a spring to hold mine on the reminder. If I can I'll shot a pic of what I mean.

The meopta rewinder was the old stock Meopta rewinder I was able to purchase and is out of stock and will not be made anymore.
But we produce our own rewinders which are even better then the Meopta's. See:
