Does anyone know Nosferatu published by DEFA?
In the Defa series, two reels came out (I think from 66m each), but I've never seen them live. What selection was made for the scenes?
Thank you.

Yes, 2*66m in Super8 (also has an earlier Std8 edition). The two rolls' main images are at http://www.weisshahn.de/rollfilm//Unterseiten/8%20mm%20Filme/0240.htm

If I run into them on eBay, I'll purchase and scan them - I already have scanned tons of DEFA footage - see my full scan archive at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4_1cuziVtq_fGwM1vN-iV97M8As94hqP

Hello Werner!
I found part one, must come home.
I'm looking for part 2, for now I found it only in block with other films.
I have several Standard 8 DEFA films, and the quality is more than good (as can be seen also in your scans). This is the first Super 8 Defa I take, I hope this is good too.
Your Std8 edition of Nosferatu is always from Defa?

With DEFA prints, it hugely depends on the master. For example, the "Around in the Soviet Union" is based on a 35mm print /master and, consequently, has extremely good quality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkNZbn_oXKE&list=PL4_1cuziVtq_fGwM1vN-iV97M8As94hqP&index=8&t=0s / https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4eIejxnjfI&list=PL4_1cuziVtq_fGwM1vN-iV97M8As94hqP&index=8

Their Indian film ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFStUZvz2cM&list=PL4_1cuziVtq_fGwM1vN-iV97M8As94hqP&index=9 ) is diametrically opposed to this - it may have been originally shot on 8mm (or 16mm at most); consequently, its quality is dreadful.

I still don't have any version of it. I'll purchase it if I run into it on eBay.

Ah, I thought you had the Std8 version.
The Indian film is not of good quality, but I thought worse.

I open an ad in film section in which I look for part two of Nosferatu. [Smile]
