I just entered the world of 8mm home projection with an Elmo ST1200HD, and am looking to buy a couple of original Elmo take up reels (as in this pic:

Hi Matthew

Welcome to one of the most addictive hobby's in the world. Regarding your request for Elmo white reels, contact Tony at Buckingham films, he has quite a few in stock.

Buckingham Films

I also noticed that you live in London, will you be attending the BFCC at Ealing town hall on Saturday 19th May. Details Below. Mr Pannell did not mention the BFCC in his reply because as yet he has NOT attended [Big Grin]

Matt. Just in case you do not know the reels in the picture are 800ft. Worth mentioning.
Best wishes.

Hello.

If you are trying to be retro/authentic, that's great. But if this doesn't really matter, you can also try GEPE 800 foot spools. They are virtually the same thing overall, just charcoal gray in color is the only difference. The GEPE as new also includes a snap tight plastic case similar to Bonum reels that you never got with the Elmo reels.

Don't worry, Craig. I have every intention of attending the October shindig! [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

I'll even wear a name badge, so you'll know I'm really there, and not merely a figment of your imagination!!! OWZATT??

Craig, thanks for the link to Buckingham films. He's got so many films for sale. Where to begin?

And yes, I am unashamedly going for the full retro monty. I'm a design freak, and those closed elmo take up reels look fantastic on the machine.

Note: I also posted on the main forum regarding the elmo performance...
