Wanted for my collection Metropolis from 1927 directed by Fritz Lang. Either 16mm or an 8mm gauge. Silent or Sound. Doesn't really bother me, would just like to have a film copy of this great Sci-Fi classic. [Cool]
Thanks everyone!

Hey Cohen:

Just got through watching the Kino label restored DVD of this title. Really something with the new score. It's certainly a landmark film.

Best, Tom P.

Tom couldn't agree with you more. I first saw it at the start of this year on the Kino DVD and was AMAZED! The film looks so great!(Doesn't even look like an 80 year old film. It could have been shot today!) The music is just wonderful as well. So you might say I have "Metropolis Fever" now. [Razz]

I know I'm not going to run across a restored print like on the DVD, but would still love to project some of the scenes. [Smile]

Hi Cohen:

I know what you mean. Even though the restored DVD look's great there still is something special about an actual film print.

Best, Tom

Cohen, Mark

The print on ebay is the collectors club edition, sadly I am yet to see a good print of this title from the collectors club. The master negative that they used was a very poor dupe with very poor contrast & definition.

I have Metropolis on 9.5mm and that print is stunning with nice deep blacks on the screen.

One last thing Cohen, welcome to the Metropolis fan club, it truly is a cinematic work of art. [Wink]
