Hi Ray I have a blue plastic reel with metal core nice and sturdy will post picture later so you can see what it looks like what condition are your 4 reels like?

Years ago, Plastic Reel Corporation sold two different types of plastic reels. One which was black in color was stronger and less prone to warping. I believe that is the manufacturer of those Super 8mm 400' reels. And they are definitely stronger and rarely have issues. I like them myself and also have a case in 16mm that I bought long ago in 2200' size.
