Recently acquired a fantastic copy of Spaceballs with the intentions of getting an optical projector. I simply came to the conclusion that it is silly for me to buy another projector to playback one movie. So if anyone is interested I will sell my copy of Spaceballs. It is mounted on 3x600' reels. Print is excellent as it is on low fade stock. I don't know what it is worth so if you want it just shoot me an email with an offer and we can go from there.

I would say that for a good coplor print of this, 100.00 or more. Steven Sigel has been selling some good color prints of optical super 8 for 150.00 and has done well, and "Spaceballs' is certainly one of the more collectible prints. I have it, and it is a very sharp print with very good sound.

I remember buying this film when it first became available back in the late '80s, and thought the combination of a take on Star Wars, which itself was a parody of space adventures etc, combined with Mel Brooks, couldn't fail, well I was disappointed and this together with Yellowbeard went for trade in.A plus was the print quality, which on both films was stunning.

Have to say when I saw the trailer at the pictures I thought " Gawd Help Us !!!! " but on seeing the film on 8mm optical the 1st few times really enjoyed it and now find it a repeater ( on dvd and lcd projector ).

Is syncing sound an option? Adam can run this print through his magnetic sound projector and run sound on a computer perhaps. I recall this discussion from another thread and many said it isn't easy.
Is there any chance that the optical strip could be damaged from running through the magnetic sound projector? If so it can be run through a silent projector.

That price seems a little high for an optical print. I think they usually go for around 125-150. But then again...Ebay has been a little crazy these days. Good luck!
