Cheers

I guess that both films from Francisco (Zorro and Tomorrow...) are polyestar and not acetate... This could be why they have not magnetic stripes on them...

Hmmmm, So must use a different source or put stripes on them...... The 2nd option is quite expensive i guess. Any idea how much you are talking about when you want to put stripes on them?
@ francico : the Thunderball? Has it audio and again, do you have some pictures?

Hi, sorry, I've been days without looking at the forum. All films are in Polyester and in excellent condition. Only two movies have soundtracks. (STAR WARS and TUNDERBALL, the two films in scope and Derann. I record sound in English or another language) The rest do not have soundtracks. They say some collectors use the Pedro Box.
The lot has a good price. The sale of single titles is more expensive.

For your info, if your are able to run a mute print with the sound from a external source, it can be great, because without the magnetic stripes you get a sharper image on the screen.

Why is that, if I may ask?

Its simple, the film is without magnetic stripes more plane to the lens. This is more relevant and visible for scope features and for example if you use a Elmo 1,0 lens.

Oemer I do not agree: provided a film has both tracks and the projector used is well tuned, there is no differenze in edge to edge sharpness between striped/unstriped. Even with the Elmo 1.0 (notoriously unforgiving in even slight ot of focus). I partially agree in case of mono-striped films, though, but only if you use a very fast lens (1.2 or higher).

Unfortunately I never watched a film this way by my self, but I heard this from some collectors, they order the film without soundstripes only for this reason. But maybe you are right.
