I think most collectors would very much like one of these but like most long films, they come at a premium price partly due to the length and therefore high price to manufacture in the first place.
Problem is they also take a long time to screen so for many, they don't find themselves wanting to watch a 3hour plus movie too often.
I have Hello Dolly as the longest print I own to date and is 6x 600ft to begin with. This feature represents excellent value given that it often sells for around the price of a 3x 600ft feature but again at nearly 3 hrs long , it isn't one you can enjoy too often easily unless you put a lot of free time aside to screening films.
Even €500 is a lot of money to spend on just one film and many will think that way I'm sure, although of course, if you look upon it as price per reel,it works out cheaper than many shorter films.
Ultimately, it is the right price, it's just a case of whether or not an individual is comfortable with parting with all that hard earned on just one film. That is why I believe films like these don't move easily or quickly but as we know, there is always someone who wants quality prints like these.
