Hi Conney, there is a 400 ft version on ebay at present although it has quite high bids, it looks like the Iver full 400ft version which included all the murders and was a much better cut than Deranns version.

Tom, my version is a bit longer than this one mounted on a 600' reel do you know how long Derann's version was?

Deranns version was only 350ft long and starts with Jerry walking toward the house with the sun setting after the first two murders. it wasn't a particularly good down really. Oddly enough it had some minor footage which was not in the iver 4 x 400 footer which is the version we have. [Wink]

There were some odd reels of the last reel of the Iver full version about, perhaps someone has edited one of there to one of the 400ft versions.

I think the 600ft mentioned must be made up of more than one part, the only releases ever put out were,
5 x 400ft full Length, Iver films for hire only, (some collectors have this one, you lucky chaps),I just missed it.
Iver 4 x 400ft version, the common feature for public purchase,
400ft very full 400ft from Iver showing all five murders,
400ft (350ft) from Derann which came with a free teaser trailer to scares of Dracula.
There was also a short trailer which i think was an import. [Wink]

Jim, can you give us run down of the content of your 600 footer please? Be interesting this one.

Tom, I tried to rewind it onto a 400' reel and its right to the edge so maybe that's why it was put on a 600' reel (the way I bought it). I did not find any splices except for at the beginning in the graveyard, I will have to watch it to see how many of the murders are on it. Its the Iver film version.
Your comment made back on 12-7-2004 that it the 400 was very full so that must be my version.

hey Jim, looks like that may be the iver full 400. it was always advertised as a packed full reel. and its by far the best of the two different 400ft releases. If the colours good id hang onto that one. [Wink]

I have all the versions listed above, I agree that the 600 foot spool one will be the 400' derann release - this one is overflowing on a 400' spool!

Tom I have watched my version which is on a 600' reel it only shows 3 murders that i could count, kirk and his girl friend pam and the others get out of the van then it shows the 2 walking towards the house kirk was the first one killed and pam was put in a freezer and popped out when another person in the party stumbled across the house, then he was killed by leatherface so was pam still alive in the freezer? then Sally pushing the Franklin in the wheel chair in the woods he was killed then the chase with sally goes on till the end of the film bother versions of mine have the same scenes one is iver the other not sure of but has no postings from iver films the iver has "the end" posted at end but my other copy just ends.
I may have to watch them side by side to see if there are any slight differences. They both have the Bryanston beginning.

hey Jim, now you mention it and thinking about it you are quite correct, the iver 400 version does show Three murders, Kirk and Pam,(who does indeed jump out of the freezer, then jerry then Franlyn. The Derann 400 footer starts after the Kirk and Pam episode, and actually opens with Jerry walking toward the house into the red sunset. [Wink]

well David, i'll be viewing our 4x400 feature soon, if it has faded any more, (only the early signs were there two years ago), then i have to think about it I am going right off faded films. In fact i am keeping my eye out on 16mm at the moment. I was a bit peed of a few months ago when i missed out on a full feature of the mission for under £90. No chance of that sort of stuff,(& colour was superb), on 8. [Wink]

Aye Tom such things could force one to give up on 8mm
and collect only good quality unfaded 16 mill copies.
Faded prints piss me off big time regardless of gauge.
