Hello my friends. In these days I'm going to start an ambitious project: to build a new GS1200 starting from new or refurbished parts I have in my own stock.
Here some photos of the steps.

Some performances will be better than a standard GS1200. For example the steadiness value: in the service manual the max tolerance for the frame vertical movement is 2mm on a 50cm screen.
By my care the steadiness is 0,5/1mm...(measured by a SMPTE genuine test film)
The work is in progress, but I need two or three months to complete the machine.
This machine will be for sale, with one year warranty. The price will be high...Is there somebody interested?

Ugo, I can recognize my blue one on the left side, eh eh eh.
It should be delivered today. Cannot wait!

That's wonderful, Ugo!
Will it have a modified inlet chute?
Posted by Ugo Grassi (Member # 139) on October 24, 2009, 05:36 AM:
of course...
that part end others with nylon or teflon "rails" to avoid scratches for hundred and hundred projecton hours...

Ugo...
The BLUE SERIES XENON is finally here!
Pals, what a feeling: cannot wait to use it! I'm so excited!

The 'new' Grassi Elmo GS sounds very interesting. I hope you will offer it to Forum members first. What might the price be? Perhaps around 2,000 Euro?

Ugo, would you give me the permission to post here on the forum some shots of the WONDERFUL GS Xenon you have just sold to me, please? Let me know. Grazie!

Hello dear Ugo. Could not resist to post some shots of this great machine that has just been delivered. Not used yet (so busy during the weekend). But I will do it soon. Thanks for giving me the possibility to use your own pictures.
Believe me, pals. This is incredibly nice. The color is simply fantastic. SO SHINING! I'm sure the performances will be too. Ugo, you are a magician!
Once more, Ugo, thank you so much.

Just to make clear... I am one person that would be very interested in a new/refurbished GS 1200 as you have described, Ugo. I will keep an eye on the forum for more details. My taste would be for shiny piano black covers against matt black chassis. Paint job very important!

Ugo,
May I ask why the cam assy is attached to a drill in one of your photos?
Thanks
Posted by Ugo Grassi (Member # 139) on October 31, 2009, 02:24 PM:
Because I use the drill to polish like a mirror the tree. That's useful to achieve a better frame steadiness
Posted by Tony Stucchio (Member # 519) on October 31, 2009, 06:58 PM:
Ugo,
What do you use to polish it?
Thanks

To state again I am in the market for an UGO GRASSI ELMO refurbished and painted. Ugo what price might a finished one be?

In these days I'm not working to the remanufactured Elmo... my real job is eating my freetime...

Eating what??? Eh eh eh. Ciao Ugo!

Ugo, if in the New Year you begin the 'remanufactured GS' project I am interested. Feel free to e-mail me. If a deposit were required to start, etc, let me know. The blue one looks stunning! A cosmetic finish like that and the upgrades inside you describe - very desirable. You have a customer for number 001! ( Or 002 if I'm not quick enough.)
Gian, will you write a little review of the blue xenon machine here, perhaps...
