Hi all. I have a Beaulieu 1008xl super 8 camera that is missing the 'battery compartment UNIT', that slides into the pistol grip/handle. I wonder if any of my follow hobbyists may be able to either sell me this cover, ie they are dismantling a 1008, or you have a none working 1008 selling it complete cheaply or direct me to a company that may help.Wittner do not stock this item....HELP!!!! Happy to receive answers/help from anywhere in the world, and of course keen to buy asap. Many thanks

This camera was made by Chinon and rebranded as a Beaulieu. Maybe the part is common to other Chinon models? I found a manual on the super8aid site and on the picture, it looks very similar to the 6008 battery holder. I guess there must be a difference if Wittner says it doesn't have it.

Cheers,
Jean-Louis

Thank yOU Jean Louis. Yes I understood it was made by Chinon and badged as a Beaulieu. The battery compartment seems similar to another camera I woned years ago but just can't place it. Am now looking out for another none working 1008 that I can strip for spares. Cheers

Hi,

there are several battery-holders that might also fit, e.g. the ones used for R/C cars, ... :

Or the ones that are used for other cameras and that are available as spare parts, e.g. at Rinser:

You might want to try all British shops that do repairs or that sell used cameras, e.g. Arundel, ... :
