Cheap is a relative term. List a price range.

Adam your request is unclear in terms of price range and what type of film you are after.

With today's market price, I can say this will be your guide:

a B/W of unknown title full feature = $25 - $40 (can be from Blackhawk, Niles, Hollywood Film Exchange). Quality of print is vary, but Blackhwak mostly is good.

a B/W of well known feature = $50 - $80 (will be more if this is very classic)

a Color (faded) of unknown title full feature = $30 - $50.

a Color (faded) of well known feature = $50 - $100

a Color (non faded) full feature = $100 - up.

cheers,

Winbert's list of prices are reasonable, many sellers, however, ask unreasonable prices for films that can be had on DVD, lifted often from original negs, for a fiver. As a film collector for many years I have a few little treasures sorted away but have never been able to do it in a big way - can't feed a family on film cans.
No doubt the whole film experience, setting up projector, screen etc; is the most fun, but like most collectors, I suspect, the DVD collection is vast.
Incidentaly, Adam, where is 63005?

Looks to be the postal code of Chesterfield, Missouri!

You run into a cunundrum with really cheap prints: as the price gets down towards zero the condition usually passes "awful" and then "unwatchable". Sure, every so often somebody snaps up a feature length "Ten Commandments" mint condition (with Charlton Heston's autograph) for 5 bucks but that's either a miracle or a mistake!

I have one feature which cost me about 35 bucks which I place in the category "not good" and I'll watch myself or with wife and kid, but wouldn't ever show to company.

I have one or two I got cheaper I won't even watch by myself! This is past the point of being a waste of money and space!

You're right Hugh...it is to the left of PA. when looking at a map of the states [Big Grin] Adam, the price also depends on what genre you're looking for. For example, sci-fi and horror films are hot items, and usually sell for a lot more than some others. BTW, we're in the wrong column with this thread! [Eek!]
