Hi, looking for the front spindle to replace a broken one on a Eumig 810D. Also could use an original 600ft take up reel and those little adapters for the front spindle to put a super8 reel on.

Extension speaker? or at least the special plug and I'll make my own.
The plug adapters so I can use the line out feature?
Maybe I'll just change these out to a more common plug type.

I imagine these parts are somewhat rare but it never hurts to ask, I might get lucky.

If anyone has a whole non working machine they want to sell, that might be the ticket too.
Thanks

Hi Grant,

Newark seems to have a lot of these DIN style connectors on our side of the Pond.

For example, here's the one for plugging into the speaker socket:

DIN Loudspeaker Plug at Newark

These are much more common in the UK, and often even Newark's stock is kept there.

The line in and line out connectors are DIN too, you just need to get the correct number of pins. Something else to watch for is (if I remember right) these connectors are recessed in the side of the machine and if the case of the connector isn't shaped right (a right angle housing for example) it won't plug in.

Another good place to check is Maplins:

Din Loudspeaker Plug at Maplins

You have to juggle the total price including shipping to see which one is the better value.

If you are going to connect an external speaker to a Eumig 800 series, it really should be 4 Ohms for best performance. An 8 ohm speaker will work, but will give you only half the volume, which forces you to turn the volume up, which can introduce more distortion. 4 Ohm speakers are much more common in car audio.

Two 8 ohm speakers will work like one 4 ohm if you connect them in parallel like this: connect the red terminals together and connect them to the hot wire from the projector. Then (seperately!)connect the black terminals together and connect them the the ground wire from the projector. IMPORTANT: If red and black are connected to each other you have a short circuit....BOOOM!!!

Any 600 foot reel will do for a takeup, but I prefer Geeps because they are well made and come with a case.

All I ask is a wide screen and a projector to light her by...

Hi Grant,

I have a Eumig 810 parts machine. The spindle you're referring to is the 8mm feed arm, correct? That is still intact. It doesn't have the super 8 sleeve to slip over it to mount super 8 reels, though. If you're interested, email me.

John

Grant, let us know how you made out. Lots of washers and such, so keep track of everything when you remove the damaged spindle before you replace the good one.
