Hi Forum members....I really want to get my hands on a duel 8 sound projector. I have been hoarding projectors in my local market where I can find them at a reasonable price but I have yet to get one with sound capability. There are some avalable in my local market but at higher prices than I can afford (I'm big enough to admit I'm just to cheap to spend the money it takes to get one)...so I just though I would put it out there; if anyone is interested in a trade maybe we could work something out.

I have several duel 8 projectors if anyone is interested in adding a machine to their collection (and I could through in cash (1 of my silent duel 8's + cash shipped : for your sound duel 8 shipped)

OR

I could also trade a 16mm projector shipped straight up for a duel 8 sound projector shipped....

OR

I also have a large CED videodisc collection (RCA Capacitance Electronic Discs); I have at least 30 or 40 doubles and tripples that I can offer as trade in addition to one of my silent 8 projectors; I also have several ced players (but they requre new drive belts and currently are not working; but an easy fix for our community).

Of course distance could be an issue if anyone is interested in making a trade with me. I live in Ontario Canada so shipping a 15 pound projector or 20 pounds of ced's to Europe or Australia could be cost prohibitive (and vice versa)....

Like I said; just wanted to put the feelers out there if anyone is interested.

Cheers!

Adam, I get Eumig 807 and 810 dual 8 sound machines from time to time. I can't keep enough in and sell them at $200 without complaints. I may be getting one in about a month.

I just made a deal for a Chinon 7000 for only $40; SCORE! Pick it up on Thursday (apparently it's fully functional in the original box). If it does work as stated by the seller I may suspend my trade offer for the time being.

I also found a Sankyo Super 8 Sound 600 locally but for a little more than I want to pay (seller is asking $150)....might try to wheel and deal with him a bit but I don't want to pay that much; but I do understand and recognize the reason for the significant price differences between sound and silent projectors (but the most I've paid for a projector yet only been $50 and that was for a B&H 1592 16mm)

Thanks & Cheers!

Hi Adam - Just to let you know... The Sankyo 600 is NOT a dual projector, it is strictly a Super 8 machine --- Sankyo designates it's film format as Super 8 and Single 8 (Single 8 is just another name for Super 8, NOT Standard 8mm) Projectors designated as Single 8 WILL NOT run Standard 8mm film

If you really want a good dual sound projector, save time and effort and stick with John Capazzo. He goes right through the projectors he sells from stem to stern. You will buy once and buy quality from John. I speak from experience because I have bought from him in the past.

Thanks for all the advice; the Chinon 7000 I picked up seems to work well; although it's Super-8 only. I ran half a dozen films through it; most played well. A couple were a little slow (400' digests) but regualr 200'ers played perfectly. So I guess I'm off the market for a trade deal for the time beeing.

Cheers

Adam,

Just because the projector hss been found, there's no need to delete this thread. The topic can stay up since it contains some useful info.

Adam

Another fine gentleman to do business with is Jon Addams. He has all kinds of projectors for sale. Just send him a message because he is a forum member. I have done a lot of business with him and he is terrific. In addition, when you buy a projector from him he stands behind it all the way!

Just the other day I was running a film and I had to chase him away from behind my projector [Eek!] [Roll Eyes]

Between these to people I mentioned you will find what you want and not have a care in the world about quality.
