Hi

I was wondering if anyone had a super 8 sound projector for sale for less than £100. It's going to be my first projector so don't really want to invest in anything too expensive at the moment. I also want something thats pretty straight forward to operate and with less chance of damaging film.

I don't mind paying postage or I can collect within Lancashire or near.

Thanks

For a first projector, kind to film, smooth running and quiet as a mouse, I would suggest you buy an Agfa LS or LS2. You should easily pick up a little used model for less than £100 (though some people will always want silly money for these things) and whilst I have one, I would never part with it as it was a present to me from my parents at Christmastime 1978. It still works perfectly which is testament to the brilliant Bauer design and great build quality on these fine little machines!

Theres one or two on e bay right now, one which I think could be had for £100 with original box etc and described as being in "mint" condition.

Hi Hunter. Thanks for your reply but unfortunately the price is way out of my budget. But thanks anyway.

Wasn't too bad a price ... But seems to be pickup only

Not sure about this projector, but my Chinon is not picky and plays all the films my Elmos won't

Great choice as suggested Amandeep.I knew you would be happy with it if you purchased a little used perfect one, so well done once again. As a first machine these are great little projectors with a similar smooth running film path to that of the superb Bauer Studio Class series of machines.

You should get great service and reliability from it between now and your eventual upgrade once you will no doubt catch the full on "bug" that we all have.

As a first machine, one of the many qualities you will be spoiled by with these lovely machines, is that they will never harm a single frame of film even by just doing minimal film path cleaning. Amazingly for such a budget machine, not even rewinding through the gate does any harm to your films.

One of the things to bear in mind when doing any eventual upgrade is that you want this minimum requirement above all else and ironically, not many of the truly high end machines can truly boast this fact even when healthy. Pick wisely along your route and any films purchased now should still be of saleable value in 20 years time!
