I did some reading about Erno and Goko you suggested, they are really good, but overkill for what I needed for. I only need to review and repair films, I will not be doing any sound recording. However if you are aware of a brand or model that can handle bigger capacity reels I will be much obliged

fair enough Bijan. I shall keep my eyes peeled for an Elmo mono machine for you then.
I don't think there is any Super 8mm editor that was designed to handle bigger reels than 800ft but some like the Erno and Goko Stereo models will accept a 1200ft spool but they do struggle to transport the film onto the take up spool beyond around 1000ft.
It can of course be used manually to check prints on 1200ft reels though with no detriment just as they can be manually rewound and cleaned while doing so.
I think the 912S will also take a 1200ft spool if memory serves me correctly. Probably not designed to transport more than 800ft though using the motor.

Yes as said earlier Winbert, they're all designed to run 800ft of film maximum using the machines in built motor.
However, it is possible on many models to fit 1200ft or even 1600ft supaspools onto these machines and so long as they are only used with larger spools manually, without the motor running, for both checking through prints then rewinding/ cleaning them, then no harm is done and therefore used in the above manner, these better editors can accept up to 1600ft of film.
