Hollywood the Selznick years from 1969 and made for TV. The Selznick years, 3 x 400ft (now mounted onto and 800ft spool), colour and b/w on colour stock.
Henry Fonda hosts this retrospective on the career and films of iconic filmmaker David O. Selznick, who epitomised the era of the auteur producer in the 30s and 40s. While not rare on 8mm, this particular print is still holding up very well with only the early signs of fade. Unfortunatly, my crappy little digi camera doesn't show up the colours too well but what it does do is to make the fade look three times worse than it is but these screen shots are only a rough idea for you. A very entertaining documentary with lots of very rare screen tests and interviews with some of the Hollywood heavyweights of the day as well as generous excerpts of many classic movies. The print is very good, nice and Sharpe and the sound is first class. We are lucky with this one being scratch and line free.

The color has really varied on this really nice release. You lucked out on the one of the better copies! Thanks for the review!

The images arnt great, the film is actually sharp and the colours much better than what you see hear. I just take quick snaps with an old cheapie digi camera during projection.
