I have a volume problem on my Ampro Stylist. Service manual says 50C5 tubes may be problem or condenser filter. I thought I would try replacing the tubes. Are all 50C5 tubes the same, or are there varying specs for them? I have zippo experience with amplifiers and have heard that you can get zapped even with power disconnected. What precautions can I take to avoid that? Thanks

Hi Barry As far as I know there is only one type of 50C5 Beam Tetrode which was used a great deal in the 60's. You can find them in all sorts of things, radios, guitar amps and the like as well. Hope this is a little help.

Thanks Dave: I jumped over to 16mmfilmtalk Forum and got a ton of information on the subject. You are correct about the tube. There are alot of amp techs on that forum and would recommend it for anyone with 16mm issues.
