I have a B+H 2582 16mm projector that was professionally modified fitting a Xenon short-arc lamp in place of the usual bulb. There was no power supply with this projector, and it has what at first looked like a Marc 300 arc cable but the pins are a little different. Does anyone know about this or can help me locate a proper power supply for it? The cable will not plug into a regular Marc 300 arc power supply due to the different pins. Any ideas?

There were several companies that offered xenon lamp versions of various projectors in the 1970s. Any other hint from any labels that might suggest it was done by Strong or some other maker?

I've searched every inch and can find no name other than B+H. I had hoped to find a nameplate identifying the company who did the mod.

Hello,
it seems, that a standard Power supply for Marc 300 Lamp would do the job.
Every serviceman (almost)should be able zu identify the relevant wires and would bring it to work.
The disadvantage ist the high price for the Marc 300 and the short life. Most people achieved 14 to 17 hrs., only.
Every ignition does shorten the life.
The second disadvantage ist the lack of special spare parts for the power supply (at least for Siemens 2000 and Bauer P6, Bauer P7 with Marc 300). Very often a lot of copper-leads on pc-board "evaporate" when the get defective.
First make sure, whether it still makes sense to invest into the old technology. If yes, keep always the inside of the power-supply including PC-board free of dust. That´s most important for the Marc 300 power supplies.

I have been debating on wether to try a Marc 300 power supply. I have a spare or two. I have been running a Marc 300 lamped Kalart 75-25 and the used bulb now has about 14 hrs on it. I will see how long it lasts. I do like the image it gives. :>)

I have a similar problem with a missing power supply. I bought a Graflex/Singer 16mm projector (on eBay - may be you saw it?) mostly because I have never seen one, and also because they seemed to get very positive reviews from users. It is certainly very well engineered. It comes with an Osram XBO 450W2 xenon lamp but nothing else apart from a number of vacant holes in the chassis and a top-mounted cooling fan. What do the two flying leads on the lamp connect to? Obviously a missing power supply/igniter, but what was it like, where/how did it fit etc? Any of you specialists know about these?
