This was started in another area, but really belongs here.

Gary,

To replace the take-up belt on the top reel pageants, you remove the top sprocket by removing the two screws (watch for the spacer on the screw. Pull out the sprocket and remove the old belt. Place the new belt in position as in figure 20 and then re-install the top sprocket and then pull the belt into position on the feed pulley behind the top sprocket and replace it on the take-up pulley on the take-up arm.

Thanks for the information, but i'm confused. the pictures appear to show how to replace the feed belt ( or actually spring), not the cloth take up belt. Am I wrong?

Yes, you're wrong. The spring belt is behind the cloth belt. The pictures show the replacement of the cloth belt. To replace the rewind belt, unhook one end and use it to connect to the new spring and pull it through in place.

Removing the sprocket is how you get the cloth belt (for take up) on the machine. You'll notice the spring belt is behind the fingers holding the cloth belt in the second picture.

I am usually wrong about such things.. I appreciate the information and will save it...so that I can give belt replacement a try. thanks sooo very much.
