Hello John, the old type of film-cleanerīs worked very well, maybe better than nowadays. I donīnt know the special you mentioned, but many of them contained Methanol and Dioxan (1.1). Use it only in well ventilated rooms and do not allow pregnant persons to work with it, or to breath it in, as it cause irreparable harm to the "baby". Put only a bit on a smooth cloth - make it not too wet- and apply it on film strip during rewinding. If the cloth get dirty, change to a clean spot of the cloth almost every 30-50 yards (to state it in real measurement, not meters). Rewinding has to be done very slowly, to allow film cleaner to dry up 100% (evaporate)before it gets trapped on reel. Do some tests on strips which can get damage before you do a real job.
