Hi I am new here I just got a 8mm a couple of weeks ago and picked up a 16mm today I like the way it looks on the wall just amazing. My question is what is the best size reel for 16mm what does a feature take up and what's a good size for shorts and cartoons? The projector I bought does not come with a reel so I want to do some homework .I love my standard 8mm getting ready for halloween movies. Thanks Alexander

Alex, welcome to the forum. A 1600 ft reel will hold approx. 40 minutes of film. More if polyester stock is used. Do the maths. You should also get a split reel as some films come on cores (ie- without spools).
