I have noticed non-portable xenon units listed for $10,000 that never sell, but the fact that this is a fairly late model, is fully portable, and a complete package (mag or optical, scope lens included) looks to have been the reason for the high value.

I haven't worked with one of these, but it does appear clean with "low mileage", it's 750w which almost puts it in the professional theater category, it's a 3-sprocket design vs 2 driven sprockets for most portable machines, and it has a high wattage audio output (not critical as most would run this through a separate sound system). It's a nice and desirable machine, but it does strike me as a lot of $$$ for it in the context of today's market for 16mm projectors. Obviously someone wanted it!

I run an XP550 and it's probably the best 16mm projector I've ever owned and operated. It usually sells for somewhere between 1000 and 2000 euros. Its later incarnation, the slot load CX550 is usually sold for 3000-3500 euros. I'm not totally surprised by the 5000 USD price tag of the XP750.
